“…Usually, as the hydration reaction progresses, the unhydrated calcium silicate content gradually decreases [ 94 ]. As reported previously [ 95 , 96 , 97 ], the peaks of C 3 S and C 2 S overlap with those of the other minerals (C–S–H, calcium hydroxide (CH), and calcite). In Figure 17 , the peaks of C 3 S and C 2 S also appear to overlap; thus, it was not easy to determine the changes in reduction.…”

“…8, TP mix showed a broad hump ranging between 24.78-33.61° 2θ that centered at 28.93° 2θ related to calcite (CaCO 3 , PDF 01-071-3699) 95 , ill-crystalline from tobermorite-phase (C-S-H, PDF# 00-033-0306) in addition to Al-tobermorite-phase (C-A-S-H, PDF# 00-020-0452) as hydration products 42,95,108,109 . The same peaks were observed in the DM mix with the presence of intense high peaks at 26.3° 2θ referring to quartz (SiO 2 , PDF# 01-087-2096) 110 in addition to the wollastonite phase (CaSiO 3 , PDF# 00-043-1460) at 26.3 and 31.9° 2θ 95,[111][112][113] , which highlights the need for NaOH powder dissolution to be suitable for activation of the phases present in GGBFS. In the OP-30M mix case, a reduction in the intensity of the broad hump was observed, which indicates the low reactivity of alkali-activated powder treated for 30 min.…”

“…The indicative peaks of unreacted portion C 3 S, β-C 2 S, and quartz could also be distinguished. Besides, the peaks characteristic of the calcite phase (CaCO 3 ) is also identified, due to the reaction of the created lime (CH) with atmospheric CO 2 gas [30]. The inclusion of 2% CF NPs along these composites (Mixes ACFs3, BCFs3, and CCFs3) induced the formation of extra amounts of CAH, CASH, CSH (I), and CSH (II).…”
