Abstract:BackgroundTeriflunomide is an immunomodulatory agent with anti-inflammatory properties that inhibits the mitochondrial enzyme dehidroorotato-dehydrogenase (DHO-DH), which is required for the synthesis of pyrimidine, blocking the proliferation of activated B and T lymphocytes.
