Abstract:We apply the diabatic formalism, first introduced in molecular physics, to the description of heavyquark mesons. In this formalism the dynamics is completely described by a diabatic potential matrix whose elements can be derived from unquenched lattice QCD studies of string breaking. For energies far below the lowest open flavour meson-meson threshold, the resulting diabatic approach reduces to the well-known Born-Oppenheimer approximation where heavy-quark meson masses correspond to energy levels in an effect… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
