Diagnosis and Treatment of Rectal Intussusception

Abstract: Rectal intussusception (RI) is a telescoping of the rectal wall during defecation. RI is easily recognizable on defecography. RI may cause rectal evacuatory disorders such as obstructed defecation and fecal incontinence. Defecography is advisable for patients with possible RI, who present with obstructed defecation and fecal incontinence.
