Diagnostic value of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody combined with rheumatoid factor in rheumatoid arthritis in Asia: a meta-analysis

Abstract: Objective This meta-analysis explored the diagnostic value of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP) and rheumatoid factor (RF) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in the Asian population. Methods Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and China Wanfang Databases were searched from 1 January 2000 to 1 February 2021 to collect studies on the combined detection of anti-CCP and RF for diagnosing RA. The sensitivity, specific… Show more

“…In 2010, the ACR and EULAR added anti-CCP Ab, also known as ACPA, a biomarker predicting aggressive RA, to the existing biomarker, RF, and revised the classification criteria to emphasize the characteristics of early RA 49 . Recently, the detection of autoantibodies such as RF and anti-CCP Ab has provided an important basis for early diagnosis and assessment of disease activity 50 , 51 . In this study, the significant predictors of RA compared to OA were xerostomia (AUC = 0.900), anti-CCP Ab (AUC = 0.808), and RF (AUC = 0.746).…”

“…Siklik peptid içeren sitrulin antikorları anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (Anti-CCP) RA için yeni ve RF'den çok daha özgül bir parametre olarak bildirilmektedir. CCP'ye karşı oluşan antikorlar, çoğunlukla IgG sınıfındadır ve RA için %96,6 oranında özgüldür [8]. Hastalarda hastalığın erken aşamasında da tespit edilebilmektedir [9].…”
