Abstract:Background and study aim: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is mainly diagnosed by ascitic polymorphonuclear (PMNL) leukocyte greater than 250/mm 3 . We intended to assess ascitic homocysteine and calprotectin for SBP diagnosis.
