Diagnostic value of transvaginal three-dimensional ultrasound combined with color Doppler ultrasound for early cesarean scar pregnancy

Abstract: Background: Our study sought to obtain data which assess the diagnostic value of transvaginal threedimensional ultrasound (3D-US) combined with color Doppler ultrasound (US) for early cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP).Methods: All participants were randomly divided into a Control group diagnosed using 3D-US and a Combination group diagnosed using 3D-US combined with color Doppler US. The preoperative US results were compared with postoperative pathological results. The diagnostic coincidence rate, sensitivity, and… Show more

“…Through an exhaustive review, our journey from 1842 initial articles was distilled to a core of seven seminal studies, 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 meticulously catalogued in Table 1 . These selected works probe deeply into the nuanced comparison between transvaginal ultrasonography (TU) and conventional abdominal ultrasonography (CU) in surveilling caesarean section wound healing among twin pregnancies.…”

“…The use of color Doppler may enhance its diagnostic acuity. 11 The identification of the type of CSP with first trimester sonography may also be pertinent to patient counseling, as the sort of subsequent surgical treatment may be dependent on the findings. 12 Determining the type of CSP by virtue of recognizing the site of ectopic trophoblast implantation and its relative position with the surrounding tissue is particularly useful in this context.…”

“…The ultrasound diagnostic criteria for CSP were defined as follows [ 4 , 10 , 11 ]: Empty uterus with clearly visualized endometrium Empty cervical canal Gestational sac implanted in the lower anterior uterine segment at the presumed site of the cesarean section incision scar Thin or absent myometrium between the gestational sac and the bladder (the majority of cases have a myometrium thickness<5 mm). “Sliding organ sign” Doppler Flow at the previous cesarean scar …”
