Abstract

Cushing's disease is the most common cause of endogenous hypercortisolism and is caused by an adrenocorticotropic hormone-producing pituitary tumor. In some cases, it is associated with a severe state of morbidity and high mortality rates. The prognosis can be modified by difficulties in diagnosis and treatment. The present work is the result of the agreements reached by the Neuroendocrinology Working Group during the meetings of the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology that aimed to point out the position of the group regarding the diagnosis and treatment of Cushing's disease.
