Diagnostics of the ecological state of aquatic and urban ecosystems using radiometric and bioindication analysis methods

Abstract: Currently, all over the world, great attention is paid to the problem ofthe ecological state of urbanized territories. The issues of protection of the atmosphere, water sources, flora and fauna, soil cover are becoming increasingly acute. The issues of the methodology of environmental monitoring of ecosystem components transformed by anthropogenic activities deserve particular attention. Diagnostics of the ecological state made by physical and bioindication methods allows to obtain representative groups of ind… Show more

“…Based on the goal of designing the structure -ensuring sustainability -criteria are needed to determine it. Formal determination of the sustainability of both anthropogenic and natural landscapes presents a certain difficulty, since various author's approaches are based either on identifying functioning parameters or preserving the structure [16]. Considering that in agricultural landscapes the material basis is the soil cover, considering the characteristics of pedocoenoses can be dominant.…”

“…Thus, the selection of similar material for breeding should take into account not only the genotypic potential of grain quality, but also the reaction to changes in conditions during the period of filling and formation, the degree of its preservation in unsuitable environmental conditions [5]. Consequently, the programmes carried out by breeders should be aimed at creating adaptive forms that will be characterised by a high degree of suitability to any changes in the environment [6,7]. It has also long been known that there is a negative correlation between quality and yield of winter wheat grain, thus, the most important task for the breeder is to develop varieties that will combine high quality and yield in new winter wheat varieties [8,9,10].…”

“…For example, man-made large plantations of common pine in the environ of Kursk in terraces above flood-plain of the river Seim (Gorely forest ecosite, Gutorev pine forest, Mokva ecosite, etc.) form the vast majority of the city's ecological framework [12,13]. However, artificially planted pine forests are atypical communities for the Kursk regions (10% of the afforestated area) and their characteristic feature is a connection with a certain stage of the succession series.…”
