Diamagnetic susceptibility of a hydrogenic donor in a quantum dot

Abstract: We investigate within the effective mass theory, the influence of the shape of the confining potential and the geometry of the Quantum Dot on the diamagnetic susceptibility χ dia of a hydrogenic donor using variational method. We compare χ dia of a donor in a Spherical Quantum Dot for both infinite and finite barrier model. The effect of the location of the donor and Al composition x of the Al x Ga 1-x As barrier of the Quantum Dot is also studied.
