“…The extra peak observed at 287.4 eV for hybrid 4 is attributed to the CO carbon of the aldehydic group of the ASCs. 37,38 The deconvoluted XPS spectra of Mo showed peaks at 236.0, 234.9, 232.9, and 231.9 eV for hybrid 1 ; 236.0, 235.0, 232.9 and 231.7 eV for hybrid 2 ; 235.8, 234.7, 232.6, and 231.7 eV for hybrid 3 and 235.7, 234.7, 232.6 and 231.6 eV for hybrid 4 . These four peaks observed for each hybrid are attributed to the four different states of Mo, i.e.…”

“…All the spectra can be deconvoluted into four peaks. The first group of peak contributions, located in the range of 282.9–283.3 eV, is characteristic of metal carbides [ 30 , 31 ]. The second group of contributions at 284.4–284.9 eV could be associated with C-C bonds [ 32 ].…”

“…Such stress was further alleviated by manipulating the distribution of both diamond and β-SiC phases in the interlayer, which were grown using either MPCVD ,, or HFCVD ,, techniques. To deposit gradient composite interlayers, the TMS flow rate was gradually reduced.…”

“…The advantage of this approach was the simultaneous growth of both a diamond top layer and a gradient composite interlayer within a single process. Since residual stress was gradually released in the gradient layer, the top diamond layer was nearly stress-free whatever on a Si substrate or metal substrates. , The reduced residual stress thus improved the adhesion of a diamond film on the related substrates (Figure ). Such a statement was further confirmed with the Brinell indentation tests .…”
