Diaqua(5-carboxybenzene-1,3-dicarboxylato-κO1)[8-ethyl-5-oxo-2-(piperazin-4-ium-1-yl)-5,8-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylato-κ2O5,O6]zinc monohydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C14H17N5O3)(C9H4O6)(H2O)2]·H2O, the complex molecule exists in a zwitterionic form. The ZnII ion exhibits a distorted tetragonal-pyramidal geometry, being coordinated by two O atoms from the zwitterionic 8-ethyl-5-oxo-2-(piperazin-4-ium-1-yl)-5,8-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate (L) ligand, one O atom from the 5-carboxybenzene-1,3-dicarboxylate dianion, [Hbtc]2−, and two O atoms from two aqua ligands. In the crystal, N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the componen… Show more

“…Based on our results and a thorough search in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD), 40,41 we were able to identify two PA polymorphic forms, 42 two polymorphs of the trihydrate derivative 43,44 and two salts, pipemidic acid hydrochloride 45 and pipemidic acid:1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid. 46 Also several metal complexes and metal–organic frameworks, 47,48 enclosing cadmium, 49 nickel, 50 silver, 51,52 zinc, 53–56 manganese, 54,57 cobalt 54 and copper 58–61 were reported.…”

“…So far, several metal complexes with pipemidic acid have been reported [23,24]. Some enclose metal centres of cadmium [25], nickel [26], silver [27,28], zinc [29][30][31][32], manganese [30,33], cobalt [30] and copper [34][35][36][37]. However, to the best of our knowledge, few studies reporting their antimicrobial activity have been disclosed.…”
