Abstract: Acute infectious diarrhea has various causes: bacterial diarrhea with invasive or toxigenic mechanisms, especially frequent in hot regions and in travelers; viral diarrheas, frequent and cosmopolitan in children but also adults; and parasitic diarrhea, less frequent, and generally in subtropical areas.
