Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title neutral rhenium(V) coordination compound, [ReBr2(C10H11N2O)O(C18H15P)], contains two molecules. In each of the two molecules the metal atom is octahedrally coordinated, the bromido ligands being cis-orientated. The chelate ligand is present in its imine-tautomeric form. In the crystal, C—H⋯Br contacts connect the molecules into chains along [101]. The shortest intercentroid distance between two aromatic rings was found to be 3.906 (2) Å.
“…Imines are easily obtained upon condensation reaction of primary amines with carbonyles (aldehydes and ketones alike). They have found application as ligands in transition metal chemistry, and their role as potential chelating agents has been confirmed on grounds of diffraction studies based on single crystals [7][8][9][10][11]. In continuation of our interest in the structural aspects of diverse imine compounds [12][13][14][15][16][17][18] the title compound was synthesized and investigated by means of a diffraction study based on single crystals.…”

The solvated title compound, (C18H16P)[CoCl3(C18H15P)]·2C6H6, is the triphenylphosphonium salt of an anionic CoII chlorido coordination compound; the asymmetric unit features an ion-pair and two benzene solvent molecules. One of the solvent molecules shows rotational disorder. C—H...Cl and P—H...Cl contacts connect the individual constituents into infinite chains extending parallel to [010].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
