Die Bedeutung der Bursa infracardiaca fr die Pathogenese der Hiatusgleithernie

Abstract: For the first time, the capillary space-bursa infracardiaca-which is present in human evolution, is investigated and described in reference to the pathogenesis of sliding hiatal hernia. This bursa at the right dorsal wall of the esophagus can obliterate, persist or even communicate with the bursa omentalis. It supports the cranially sliding movement of the gastroesophageal junction and reduces the slope posture of the plane of esophageal entry into the stomach. Extensive sliding movement permits the fat of ome… Show more

“…The existence of the mediastinal serous cavity is a fascinating consequence of embryologic development, but the actual purpose of the space is unknown. Some authors have hypothesized that the mediastinal serous cavity supports the cranial sliding motions of the gastroesophageal junction, and reduces the slope of the esophageal plane of entry into the stomach . Persistent communication of this space with the omental bursa is the cause of congenital or primary type paraesophageal hernia and a predisposing factor in sliding hiatal hernia .…”

[18][19][20] Extension of the mediastinal serous cavity caudal to the diaphragm was not observed in any of the clinical cases.…”
