Abstract:Formal thought disorders are usually regarded as a central symptom of schizophrenic psychoses, but nevertheless as diagnostically non-specific. Karl Leonhard, therefore, differentiated in his classification of endogenous psychoses between a whole lot of diagnostically specific types of formal thought disorders.
