Pathomorphologicai Diagnosis of Benign and Malignant Endocrine TumoursSummary. The morphological diagnosis of endocrine tumours is difficult, especially in regard to their dignity. The otherwise useful histological and cytological signs of malignancy mostly fail in endocrine tumours. Reviewing these problems, the diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis between hyperplasia, adenoma and carcinoma are discussed in respect to the different endocrine organs, except hypophysis, epiphysis and the thyroid gland. Interdisciplinary cooperation seems necessary. Modern immunhistological methods promise improvement. Key words: Endocrine tumours -Diagnosis -Differential diagnosis.
