This concept, as well as the lack of close anatomical and functional associations between the female genitalia and urinary tract led Heynemann (1933) and Stoeckel (1952) to deny the existence of urogenital tuberculosis. More recently, however, May and Strauss (1959), May (1961, 1963) have suggested that female urogenital tuberculosis occurs just as it does in men, and that in the female genital tuberculosis is nearly always either accompanied or followed by urinary tuberculosis.…”
