“…The microstructure of the produced PEO‐PVP‐NaIO 4 films, especially the degree of crystallinity, is of paramount importance for their electrical response, hence for the eventual CT and SCP. That is why, the microstructure of our samples were characterized in details by various experimental techniques, the results have been reported elsewhere . Briefly, Raman spectroscopy and Fourier‐transform IR (FTIR) spectroscopy, as well as X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies have confirmed the uniform miscibility between PEO and PVP, as well as the complexation of the NaIO 4 salt to the functional groups of the host PEO‐PVP polymer matrix.…”

“…It is seen from Figure d–f that when the concentration of the NaIO 4 salt is increased from 5 to 10 wt%, this will not influence the good reversibility of the ion transport. It should be noted that by increase of NaIO 4 concentration (the composition PEO:PVP of the polymer blends is kept fixed), the ion current through the PEO‐PVP‐NaIO 4 thin films increases . The values of the room‐temperature (at 23 °C) DC conductivity of the same samples measured by means of electrical complex impedance spectroscopy (Nyquist plots) are: 8 × 10 −12 , 1.16 × 10 −9 , and 1.75 × 10 −9 S cm −1 , for PEO, PVP, and PEO‐PVP, respectively (the weight averaged‐molecular mass of the polymer precursors we have used are 5 × 10 6 and 3.6 × 10 5 for PEO and PVP, respectively).…”
