Dielectric behaviors and high energy storage density of nanocomposites with core–shell BaTiO3@TiO2 in poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)

Abstract: Nanocomposites comprising a P(VDF-HFP) polymer matrix and core-shell structured nanoparticle fillers were prepared, in which a crystalline, ultrathin TiO2 shell layer encapsulates BaTiO3 nanoparticles. A large dielectric constant (>110) was obtained, which was unexpectedly more than 3 times higher than that of the nanocomposite without the TiO2 shell layer. The significant improvement in electric polarization is attributed to the highly interactive interfaces among the multiple dielectric materials with the in… Show more

“…Therefore, a high fraction of β‐phase is expected to achieve stronger piezoelectric response. Figure (a) presents the FTIR bands of c‐HFP and Eu 3+ :c‐HFP films, where the characteristic phonon modes of well‐known phase identification are available . The c‐HFP film originated with predominantly a non‐polar α‐phase of 611, 764, 793, 976, 1150, and 1211 cm −1 bands along with a trace amount of β/γ‐phases revealed from the presence of a weak band at 840 cm −1 .…”

“…Besides this, a positive charge cloud and an electronegative pole of P(VDF‐HFP) behave like a noncentro‐symmetric Eu 3+ :P(VDF‐HFP) complex comprising electroactive phases that may exhibit enhanced piezoelectric response. Such an architecture is likely to improve dielectrics and high energy storage capability as well . In this work, we fabricated a piezoelectric nanogenerator (PNG) made of a hybrid Eu 3+ :P(VDF‐HFP) composite film that exhibits 5 V open circuit voltage and 0.35 μA short‐circuit current which is capable of lighting ten commercial LEDs instantly.…”

“…Above results show that the process has great influence on the dispersion of EGs in composites, the different morphology will bring different properties. Dielectric property is very sensitive to the structure of a material . Figure gives the dielectric constants over a wide frequency range for new‐EG/EP, t‐EG/EP, and m‐EG/EP composites.…”
