Dielectric Breakdown in Electrolytic Capacitors

Abstract: Starting with the known but unexplained fact that high-voltage electrolytic capacitors need operating electrolytes of high resistivity, breakdown (sparking) voltages of aluminum and tantalum anodes have been examined.
