Abstract:Background: Endometriosis, which affects up to 10% women of reproductive age, is defined by the presence of ectopic endometrial tissue outside the uterus. The current key drug of hormonal therapies for endometriosis is dienogest, which is a progestin with high specificity for the progesterone receptor.
