Abstract:A switchable Nd:YAG laser generating at two wavelengths of 1064 nm or 1444 nm is useful for the selective removal of dental caries as well as the reduction of Streptococcus mutans, one of the most important causes of carious lesions. The investigation of both possible applications was documented experimentally.
