Abstract: ground: A cytokine storm is defined by elevated levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6). In COVID-19 infection, IL-6 is superior to C-reactive protein (CRP) and other inflammatory markers in predicting respiratory failure.
