Abstract:Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) plays a crucial role in cervical ripening and initiating parturition. The Dinoprostone vaginal insert, containing 10 mg of Dinoprostone within a polymeric hydrogel matrix, ensures controlled and consistent release. In women with intact membranes, the release rate averages 0.3 mg per hour, while in those with premature rupture of membranes, variability may occur.
