Abstract:Idiopathic macular hole is a vitreomacular interface disease and an anatomical and functional retinal pathology. Different treatment alternatives on the internal limiting membrane (ILM) in patients with an idiopathic macular hole (MH) result in a high MH closure rate and improvement in visual function. ILM is very transparent and thin, but the usage of new dyes and the development of microincision surgery improve both closure rate and visual recovery.
