“…The observed differences in WGA binding may also help to explain conflicting results obtained in previous studies, some of which indicated no significant differences in glycoforms between cell lines differing in metastatic potential, while others did show differences. Perhaps differences in carbohydrate expression patterns on metastatic cells are correlated less with general changes in metastatic potential than with tissue-specific homing behavior. As before, further study will be required to investigate this hypothesis.…”
