Digital image processing (DIP) application on the evaluation of iron-rich heavy mineral concentrates produced from river sand using a sequential mineral processing approach

Abstract: In this study, the iron-rich heavy mineral concentrate production from river sand as a byproduct of an alternative resource by gravity, magnetic separation, and flotation methods were investigated in detail. For the physical separation of the sample and increasing the Fe2O3 content, a shaking table and a wet high-intensity magnetic separator were used, respectively. The gravity and magnetic separation experiments included rougher, cleaner, and scavenger circuits. In the flotation experiments, cationic flotatio… Show more

“…Compared with linear filtering, it can reduce the image blur caused by filtering to a certain extent. We often use the median filtering method for image noise scanning and pulse interference removal [19]. e principle of median filtering is to use the median value of the gray value of each point in the sliding window (the neighborhood is an odd number of points) to replace the gray value of the pixel at the center of the window.…”

“…Energy calculations for the optimized models of various collectors were conducted using the Dmol 3 module, with the resulting frontier orbital energies detailed in Table 2. In the context of substrates engaged in complex nucleophilic or electrophilic reactions, the proximity of the energy of LUMO+1 to LUMO necessitates an examination of LUMO+1 [46]. Figure 3 illustrates the significant contribution of the acetylene group to the frontier orbital energies of PDEC, particularly to LUMO+1.…”
