Digital rights description as part of digital rights management: a challenge for libraries

Abstract: PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to answer the question of whether digital rights management (DRM) can be useful to libraries.Design/methodology/approachThe paper provides a legal and technical description of DRM and its current and future opportunities.FindingsThe paper finds that digital rights management has possibilities that can be useful for libraries.
