Abstract: In this paper, a bibliometric, content and thematic analysis of digitalization in maritime transport and seaports was performed. The research was primarily motivated by the scarcity of similar works offering a comprehensive and recent literature analysis, the advancements of the maritime digitalization itself, and its influence on all related processes. The initial investigation phase considered 8178 publications, leading through the research steps to the final inclusion of 280 papers, the thematic and content… Show more

“…There are several smaller groups of authors and journals, but these publish smaller volumes of work and are not connected through collaboration. Similar limiting patterns are also visible in newly rising maritime research areas, such as cyber security and digitalization [23, 84]. This shows that the MET research compared to other domains such as; accident prevention and human factors in maritime [47, 91] is relatively small and less active.…”

“…The results of the study show that working in a digital ecosystem can help to promote the adoption of digital solutions, although not at the same rate in different departments and shipping facilities. Jović et al (2022) investigated the topic through a comprehensive analysis of various factors that influence the development and implementation of maritime transport and the digitalisation of seaports. They used the method of reviewing publications related to the digitalisation of seaports and maritime transport.…”
