This is a study of the prevalence and clinical presentation of 112 cases of cardiomyopathy seen at a large teaching hospital in Riyadh. All patients satisfied the diagnostic criteria for cardiomyopathy defined by the World Health Organization/International Society and Federation of Cardiology (WHO/ISFC) in 1980. There were 101 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy, eight with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and three with restrictive cardiomyopathy. The clinical aspects of these patients form the subject of this study.
