Show more

“…The presence and abundance of each variable were recorded for each local population of naked characin in studies conducted prior to the Ich outbreak. The variables included the presence and abundance (i) naked characin, (ii) Uruguay tetra; (iii) rainbow trout (Quiroga, 2019), (iv) wild El Rincón stream frog (Velasco, 2018), and (v) reintroduced El Rincón stream frog (individuals coming from the ex‐situ colony of this species that were released in the wild in May 2017; Martínez Aguirre et al, 2019).…”

“…each variable were recorded for each local population of naked characin in studies conducted prior to the Ich outbreak. The variables included the presence and abundance (i) naked characin, (ii) Uruguay tetra; (iii) rainbow trout(Quiroga, 2019), (iv) wild El Rinc on stream frog(Velasco, 2018), and (v) reintroduced El Rinc on stream frog (individuals coming from the ex-situ colony of this species that were released in the wild in May 2017; MartínezAguirre et al, 2019).A logistic regression model was used to evaluate the relationship between the presence or absence of Ich in the stream as the response variable and the abundance of fishes and frogs in each site as explanatory variables. A type I analysis was conducted to test if the group of variables provided a significant amount of information to the model (P < 0.05).…”
