Direct aperture optimization using an inverse form of back‐projection

Abstract: Direct aperture optimization (DAO) has been used to produce high dosimetric quality intensity‐modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) treatment plans with fast treatment delivery by directly modeling the multileaf collimator segment shapes and weights.
