Direct comparison of the x-ray emission and absorption of cerium oxide

Abstract: X-ray emission spectroscopy and x-ray absorption spectroscopy have been used to investigate the photon emission and absorption associated with the Ce 3d5/2 and Ce 3d3/2 core levels in Ce oxide. A comparison of the two processes and their spectra will be made.
