Direct writing of flexible bimetallic nanoparticles for hybrid plasmon response

Abstract: Two types of bimetallic nanoparticle are constructed on soft substrates via a laser-induced transfer technique. One particle is a physical mixture with distinct gold and silver nanoparticles, while the other is a gold-silver alloy nanoparticle. Different hybrid plasmon responses can be achieved by these nanoparticles, which can be attributed to electromagnetic interactions between gold and silver. Both nanostructures can be fabricated using one or two ultraviolet laser pulses. Also, the stability of the spectr… Show more

“…The blend solution was spin-coated onto a silicone rubber slab with an area of 20 mm×20 mm and thickness of 1 mm at a speed of 1000 rpm, forming a thin film with thickness of approximately 50 μm. The PDMS preparation process is similar to the process described in our recent work 18 . The sample was placed on a hot plate at 80°C for 30 min to complete the cross-linking polymerization and drying processes.…”

“…The PDMS preparation process is similar to the process described in our recent work. 18 The sample was placed on a hot plate at 80 °C for 30 min to complete the cross-linking polymerization and drying processes. After cooling to room temperature, a flexible plasmonic random laser device was realized, as shown in Fig.…”

“…7 Applications can be found in many areas such as sensors, 8,9 lasers, 10 solar cells, [11][12][13] and surface enhanced Raman scattering. 18,19 Therefore, there is a need to develop a simple and efficient method to obtain the broad plasmon response of hybrid metal nanoparticles. One of the most interesting characteristics of the hybrid plasmon response is that the spectra of hybrid nanoparticles are broad due to the electromagnetic interaction between different nanoparticles.…”
