Directed cis-hydrosilylation of borylalkynes to borylsilylalkenes

Abstract: Directed by the choice of catalyst cis-hydrosilylation of borylalkynes leads to novel borylsilylalkenes which are crucial synthons for the introduction of the carbon–carbon double bonds in organic synthesis.

“…Due to its excellent effectivity and high functional group tolerance, Pt-catalyzed hydrosilylation has been recognized as one of the most important reactions of homogeneous catalysis, allowing for the synthesis of a plethora of organosilanes and silicons. Therefore, based on reports in the literature and our previous experience [59][60][61][62][63][64][65] in the synthesis of functionalized silanes via hydrosilylation reactions, we selected Karstedt's catalyst [Pt 2 (dvs) 3 , platinum(0)-1,3-divinyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane] for our research.…”

“…first-row transition metal complexes. [9][10][11][12][13] The major research area has intensified on manganese, [14][15][16][17] iron, [18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25] nickel, [25][26][27][28] and cobalt. [24,25,29,30] However, despite numerous protocols for the highly selective Co-catalyzed hydrosilylation of alkynes and alkenes, the modification of carbonyl groups seemed more challenging.…”

“…In our research we are focusing on the development of effective catalytic methods for the synthesis of organoboron and organosilicon compounds. [16][17][18][19][20][21] These processes are mainly catalyzed by expensive, moisture and air sensitive TMcomplexes, which generate problems with process sustainability, catalyst stability and recyclability as well as the need to create inert conditions. Therefore, because of their high reactivity, low toxicity and ease of storage, organoboron compounds are valuable intermediates in C-C, C-N, C-O and C-X bond-forming reactions and other demetallation protocols, e.g., the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction, [22][23][24] Zweifel olefination, 25 halodemetallation, 26,27 Chan-Lam coupling, 28,29 etc.…”
