Abstract:The beamwidth is a primary directivity metric for the design of a constant directivity horn. To date, investigations on this property have predominantly been restricted to the half-space radiation or idealized geometries. This paper examines the beamwidth behavior of an axisymmetric horn mounted in a finite cylindrical enclosure by proposing an elegant multimodal solution to the far-field directivity pattern. The variation of beamwidth is examined for the frequency, dimensions of the enclosure, and shape of th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
