Discourse Analysis/Methods

Abstract: Studying discourse means more than examining language use. It entails studying the use of language (and other nonlinguistic systems of meaning) as a form of social practice, and a way of reflecting and shaping society. Not surprisingly then, discourse analysis is of interest to researchers in varied academic fields such as education, health, law, sociology, gender studies, psychology, public policy, political science, management, organization studies, and, of course, organizational communication.
