“…Black smokers are a form of submarine geothermal, more than 150 black smokers sulfide distribution areas have been found around the world, which Mainly distribute near the ridges in the oceans generally locating 2000~3000 meter deep. The hot fluid temperature in black smokers exit is about 200~400℃, the temperature gradient field of 400~0℃ and 100~300m high is formed in its surrounding, which spreads a few miles to a few tens of kilometers [3][4][5][6][7][8] . Because of the high temperature and pressure of black smokers, therefore, the hot fluid as the heat source compared with surface warm seawater around 25℃, temperature, pressure and temperature difference are greatly increased, which should be able to greatly improve thermodynamic cycle efficiency, decrease the size of the steam turbine and reduce the heat load of evaporator and condenser, all of these are very beneficial for ocean thermal energy conversion systems.…”
