Discussion of Vector Meson Production in Kp Interactions in Terms of a Simple Quark Fusion Model

Abstract

Abmtract. The inclusive production of ~"(773), K*(892) and tp(1020) mesons in K f p and K-p interactions a t 32 GeV/c is investigated in terms of a quark fusion model. Except for the ~'(773) production, the model fails to give a unique description of the vector m m n production in both K+ and K-induced reactions. IntroductionThe quark parton model, succeasfully applied to describe lepton induced reactions and large pl phenomena, nowadays is also being tried aa a, tool to interpret the production of hadrons of small pl.Several attempts are presently under discussion: a statistical approach [l], a quark recombination model [2] and a quark fusion model [3-51.
