“…If we want to deal with the issue of coordinated regional development, the key lies in accelerating the new round of territorial spatial planning process and urging China's regional economy to both promote stable growth of the national economy and maintain the coordination of regional development in the new pattern. Therefore, future development needs to rely on comprehensive coordination and a new round of territorial spatial planning to address it.In June 2018, the Opinions on Unifying the Planning System to Better Play the Role of Strategic Orientation of National Development Planning and the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Establishing a Territorial Spatial Planning System and Supervising its Implementation were issued in May 2019, which made the overall framework of the national planning system clearer and preparation requirements, and proposed the establishment of a nationally unified, clear, scientific and efficient national land spatial planning system [23]. “…The role, problem and the necessity for cooperation of institutional control and local autonomy in land use planning in balancing economic development with environmental protection were studied in USA [ 15 ]. Research on territorial spatial planning in China mainly focuses on learning advanced foreign experience and drawing lessons from developed countries [ 16 , 17 ], pilot exploration of preparation of planning [ [18] , [19] , [20] , [21] , [22] ] and discussion on planning content and technical methods, for example, resource and environmental carrying capacity and territorial space suitability assessment methods [ 23 , 24 ], the division of “Three regions and three Lines” and the application of big data and other information methods [ [25] , [26] , [27] , [28] ], or research on the formulation of territorial spatial planning for cities, counties and provinces [ [29] , [30] , [31] , [32] ].However, the appeal of balance is put forward in the theoretical research of territorial spatial planning [ 4 ], which emphasize that territorial spatial planning has entered a new era of ecological civilization, and should embody the requirements of ecological civilization construction. The future three demand trends are comprehensive humanization of subject, comprehensive development ecotypically of object and regional network of group [ 33 , 34 ].…”

“…However, limited by the absence of data that can characterize human activities at fine scales, few studies have included humanistic indicators such as human behavioral activities in the constrained CA [27,28]. However, humanism is the criterion for the appropriateness of urban development and is necessary and significant in urban growth boundary's delineation [29]. Thus, indicators like residents' activities, living environment, and so on should be integrated into the constrained CA.…”
