The Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) is government spokesman that provide public information and function as Government Public Relations. PPID has provided good and correct information to public include providing information about COVID-19. In 2021, the Central Java Provincial Information Commission (KIP JATENG) hold Public Information Disclosure Assessment themed ''Information Disclosure and Optimization of Public Information Services in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period'' through a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). The main aspect of the assessment is the accessibility public agency websites, followed by the ranking of best public agency at the Regency/City scope. This study aims to see how the role of PPID through the Public Agency Website in the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Karanganyar Regency. This study uses qualitative research methods with data triangulation techniques. The informants in this study were the main PPID of Karanganyar Regency and the Implementing PPID of the Public Agency. In this study, it was found that the The Office of Trade, Labor, Cooperatives. Small and Medium Enterprises are considered to be more optimizing technology media in terms of websites and social media providing information that is quite effective in Covid-19 pandemic era at Karanganyar Regency.

The authors in this special issue present case studies of socio-cultural responses to technologies in terms of their relationships with ‘ethics’ and ‘politics,’ to ecologies, and to the ways in which those technological processes are framed as empowering, alienating, dispossessing, transformative or destructive. This introduction elaborates some connections between the papers, focusing on the ways that technology both creates, and becomes part of, ethical and political struggles over visions of the future. Technology is frequently used to increase the extent and range of control, and to impose a politicised order upon others in villages, towns, environments and landscapes, although this control cannot be guaranteed. Technology can also become part of the rhetoric used to persuade people of the inevitability, validity and desirability of imagined futures, while leaving other factors to be ignored. Technology, ethics and politics are not always separable, and the results of their interaction may not always be predictable.

One of the government's obligations is to provide public information to the public in order to maintain democratic stability and realize public-oriented governance. Efforts to provide good and correct information to the public include efforts to provide information about Covid-19. Because it is undeniable that widespread misleading information circulating in the public sphere of the network has generated debate about its potential dangers to democracy, organizations and individuals. However, as part of the information society and digital society, we are not only passive in receiving information. There must be digital literacy in terms of receiving, filtering, disseminating and producing information that has implications for the public. There are several digital literacy competencies that we must have, because now we live in a digital era, therefore we must improve our good digital literacy skills, not only being able to operate tools, but also being able to use digital media with full responsibility
