Abstract:Background: Differentiation of the genital system occurs through a chronological sequence of events involving the determination of chromosomal, gonadal, and phenotypic sex. Disorders of sexual development (DSDs) include chromosomal sex abnormalities, gonadal abnormalities, and phenotypic variations.
