Abstract:Hamilton (1934) does, however, list one sighting of a Woodchuck eating Vallisneria americana in July inan Adirondack Mountain pond. This animal also reached the vegetation by walking on a fallen log. I am grateful to D. R. Voigt, M. C. Smith, and H. P. Weeks for offering suggestions on an earlier draft of the manuscript.
