Abstract:Thermosetting composites based on dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) in the presence of Grubbs' catalyst and soybean flour were prepared by ring‐opening metathesis polymerization. Soybean flour/DCPD suspensions were sonicated to enhance the dispersion degree before adding catalyst. The curing extent, thermal‐mechanical properties, morphology and thermal stability of the cured soybean flour/DCPD composites were systematically investigated using Soxhlet extraction, DSC, DMA, TMA, tensile test, SEM, and TGA. The results sh… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
