Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation Associated With SARS-COV-2 Infection: A Post- Mortem Case Study

Abstract: The mechanisms of coagulation disorder in COVID-19 are complex. However, it is already postulated that endotheliopathy and platelet activation may be important factors, causing direct damage to endothelial cells and the imbalance of inflammatory response, manifesting by venous arterial or microvascular thrombosis. The present study aims to describe a clinical case of an 8-year-old female patient with disseminated intravascular coagulation due to sepsis of viral etiology.
