“…50 Children with severe burn shock had extreme elevations of antidiuretic hormone on admission; with aggressive extracellular expansion, these levels fell over 12 h to near normal values. 51 Children with acute diarrhoeal dehydration had elevated antidiuretic hormone levels on admission which declined after 4 h of extracellular fluid expansion, but not always to normal.
