Distal vaginal atresia resulting in obstructive uropathy accompanied by acute renal failure

Abstract: Children with hydrometrocolpos due to distal vaginal atresia may present with severe obstructive uropathy. Here we report a 27-day-old infant with a hydrometrocolpos causing life-threatening renal failure. Percutaneous drainage of the hydrometrocolpos resulted in dramatically improved clinical and laboratory findings in the patient.
