Distinctness of the Lifted Kloosterman Sums over the Prime Field Fp

Abstract

In this paper we show that Kloosterman sums Kpm(u); u ∈ F*p; are distinct for arbitrary odd characteristic p and each degree of extension m of the prime field Fp.
