Ground handling serves the baggage, passenger, and aircraft when on ground such as cleaning, refueling, catering, and towing the aircraft to the apron. That services utilize the ground support equipment (GSE). There are particular requirements for GSE in terms of time and speed when it serves the aircraft on the apron. This research is intended to determine the sufficiency of existing GSE. In achieving the goals of the research, secondary data was collected such as block on and block off time, the use of the gate and time estimation of ground handling vehicles services for each of aircraft types. The time required for serving each aircraft type can be estimated from exercising those data. Thus, it will be referred as the time needed for operating each ground handling vehicle. The performance of ground handling vehicles measured using peak hour data. The results of the service time of ground handling vehicles used for calculating the number of ground handling vehicles needed for existing condition. They indicate that the Terminal 1 of Juanda International Airport in the need of 5 catering vehicles, 10 ground power unit vehicles, 6 fuel trucks, 5 lavatory services vehicles, 5 loading/unloading baggage carts vehicles, 9 belt loader vehicles, and 2 passenger boarding stairs vehicles.
